GasPad

Gas paperwork, done on your phone.

GasPad is an app for Gas Safe registered engineers, and it replaces the paper pad. You fill in the record on the job, the customer signs on the screen, and the finished PDF is emailed to the landlord, the tenant and you as soon as you issue it. If there’s no signal, it sends by itself when there is.

The records it makes

GasPad makes six kinds of record. Each one is filled in a step at a time, and GasPad shows you anything that’s still missing before you send it.

  • Landlord Gas Safety Record (CP12) The yearly landlord’s check, in the A4 landscape layout that landlords and letting agents already know. GasPad works out the next due date for you.
  • Gas Warning Notice Written for you as soon as you record an At Risk or Immediately Dangerous defect.
  • Service and Maintenance Record For a routine service: the checklist, your readings and your notes.
  • Breakdown Report The fault, the work you did and the parts you used. The parts carry straight over to the invoice.
  • Installation and Commissioning Record For a newly fitted appliance, covering the Benchmark commissioning checklist.
  • No Access Record For when nobody’s in: a dated record with a photo of the door, so the landlord can show that you attended.

GasPad also keeps a calendar of your visits, shows you which records are about to run out, and writes invoices for labour and materials that you can export for Xero or QuickBooks.

Your records stay with you

  • Kept on your phone

    Customers, addresses, records and invoices are stored on your phone, and no GasPad server holds them.

  • Sent from your own email

    Records are sent from your own email address, through your own email provider, exactly as if you’d sent them yourself.

  • Sealed when issued

    Each record is sealed the moment it’s issued, and a short seal code is printed on every page. GasPad can check any PDF later and tell you whether it’s exactly what was sent.

  • App lock

    Switch on App Lock and GasPad asks for your phone’s own lock every time it opens, so your customers’ details stay private if someone else picks up your phone.

GasPad is an independent app. It is not endorsed by Gas Safe Register, and the Gas Safe logo isn’t printed on its forms. You remain responsible for the work you do and for what you record.
